Blog Tour: There Was an Old Woman

Blurb:

There Was An Old Woman by Hallie Ephron is a compelling novel of psychological suspense in which a young woman becomes entangled in a terrifying web of deception and madness involving an elderly neighbor.

When Evie Ferrante learns that her mother has been hospitalized, she finds her mother's house in chaos. Sorting through her mother's belongings, Evie discovers objects that don't quite belong there, and begins to raise questions.

Evie renews a friendship with Mina, an elderly neighbor who might know more about her mother's recent activities, but Mina is having her own set of problems: Her nephew Brian is trying to persuade her to move to a senior care community. As Evie investigates her mother's actions, a darker story of deception and madness involving Mina emerges.

My Thoughts:
There Was an Old Woman is amazing. I pretty much finished it in less than a day, which is a new record for me! Mina is a spunky old gal with a sharp wit and an even sharper tongue! I liked that even though she was in her 90's she took no crap from anyone. My kind of lady! Her back story was pretty interesting too. So much history!

Evie's story is just as intriguing! Her life at first seems all sunshine and roses, but she has lots of past issues that she is trying to avoid. Her mother is among those issues. A drunk, mean woman that has driven her daughter away.

A crisis brings Evie and Mina together. Thus the story begins.

There Was an Old Woman is an tightly written suspense novel. I seriously was guessing right up to the end, and I'm still actually reeling! The pacing is darn near perfect! Definitely not a dull moment in this book! The characters are well done, the plot is gloriously nerve wracking, and well..it's just splendid!
