Even Riley Dillon’s lucky red shoes couldn’t save her from the worst day imaginable—though they did act as great projectile against her cheating fiancé!

After finding her life in turmoil, Riley leaves New York and returns to her hometown of Mistcoast, California where she takes a job at the local surf shop owned by Blake Reynolds, who has certainly grown up a lot since high school.

Blake Reynolds is handsome, talented and driven. At twenty-four the blond haired, blue eyed surfer seemingly has it all: a booming business, hometown following—everything but the girl of his dreams. Luckily, fate decides to give him a second chance.

After ten years apart will Blake finally win Riley’s heart? Or will she continue to see him as the annoying freshman she used to tutor?

One thing’s for sure, only the California sun and surf can help decide.

“Enough of me,” he said coyly. He reached out to grab a stray lock of my strawberry blonde hair. I swatted his hand away.

“Do not touch me,” I hissed.

He rolled his eyes and turned his baseball cap backwards on his head. “Oh, come on. I’m a guy and you’re a girl and—”

“This isn’t going to turn into some tutor/student sex fantasy,” I shot back angrily.

“Admit it. You think I’m hot.”

If I were being frank, I would admit that the fourteen-year-old freshman was good looking in a young Brad Pitt sort of way. Regardless, he was a freshman. There was no way I was even entertaining that idea.

I shook my head. “Nope. Can’t say that I do.”

“Oh, come on, Riley. Stop denying what is fated. We are going to fall in love, get married, and have beautiful children.”

“Do you want me to tell your mother that you’re sexually harassing your eighteen year old senior tutor? Why don’t you take all that energy you’re putting into being a perverted freak and focus on your studies?”

Instead of being angry, Blake’s eyes widened and he burst into a loud laugh. “You are seriously something, Riley Dillon. Seriously something.”

“Just pay attention to the lesson,” I snapped.

“Age ain’t nothing but a number, Sweetheart. One day you’ll find that out.” He grinned his cocky smile and I couldn’t help but wonder if this tutoring gig was even worth it. As his laugh echoed in the empty classroom, all I could do was shut my tired eyes and shake my head in exasperation.

Spotlight on Romance: ~Melting Into You by Cassandra Carr~ (M/M romance)

MeltingIntoYou (2)
Melting Into You

Seth Mason's life as a macaroni and cheese food truck owner in Austin, Texas, is pretty good, except for one thing: he'd like to find a man to share that life with. As part of an organization Seth founded, he donates leftovers to the local homeless shelter, and meets Ben, a new employee. He's a preppy guy, and very much not Seth's usual type, but the attraction is strong and not going away. Ben's just moved to Austin from Connecticut to take a job as a case manager at the Austin City Mission, the first time he's left home and family. But only a short time after he starts work, he meets a man who, though he looks like an extra in a surfing movie, intrigues him. He's hardly seen what life in Austin has to offer, and yet finds he wants to discover that with Seth's help. The passion burns hot between them--hotter even than Austin in the dog days of summer, and neither man can deny it. As they grow closer, both must decide if they have the necessary ingredients for lasting love, or if the relationship will go up in smoke.

Cassandra's books have won numerous "Best Book Of" awards and her novella Unexpected Top was nominated in the E-book Erotic Romance category of RT's Reviewers' Choice Awards. Her inspiration comes from everywhere, but she'd particularly like to thank the Buffalo Sabres, the hockey team near and dear to her heart.

Attention Whoreish Update

Anyshmoozles, you guys can expect this blog to go back to normal on Jan. 5th. I'm taking a wee blogging break (minus preset posts and what nots) to get myself situated and sorted for the New Year.

I'm going to make it a very very firm point to keep some sort of schedule for this place. I'm definitely going to be bringing you more reviews and less promos. More fun memes and more random shenanigans. I kind of like all of you and want you to come back oftener.

On the 5th, I'll post about my 2015 goals and all that jazz.

Have a safe and Happy New Year!

Blog Tour: I, James by Mike Hartner

James Crofter was ripped from his family at age 11.
Within a year the prince was a pauper in a foreign land.

Is nature stronger than nurture? And even if it is, can James find the happiness he so richly desires?

My Review:

Warning: I, James is the second installment in The Eternity series.

I am not sure how I missed it, but it is a second book in a series. I don't usually read books out of order, but since I agreed to read this for a blog tour I went in hoping I wouldn't get lost. So with that warning said I will move on with my review.

I really had no problem slipping into the book. I'm sure reading the first in the series (which I plan on doing anyway) would have been a great help, but it was easy enough to get up to speed. So *whew* big relief there!

A few things stick out for me about this book.

I really enjoyed the pacing. Usually there's quite a lot of dips in the pacing for a book of this nature. Explaining the history, the characters, the culture etc..can bog down a book's pacing, but for some reason (maybe it was because it was book 2?) the pacing was pretty swift. It flowed quite nicely and I appreciated that!

The characters were pretty spiffy too! I really do enjoy the way Mike Hartner writes! The characters were vividly written and felt like people instead of characters. I could tell that lots of care went into writing them.

All in all I would say that historical fiction readers would really be wowed by this one! I enjoyed it a lot and while it wasn't my usual cup of tea I would gladly read more by Mr. Hartner!

Book Excerpt:

It required two days of marching to get to what I’d learned was a plantation, which was in the middle of nowhere.  When we finally arrived at our destination, I considered how memorable my last 16 months had been since I was removed from a prince’s life.  Yes, they were memorable.  And even though I had a pouch full of coin hidden inside my drawers, I was now a slave on a plantation in Africa.
