Review: Allison Hewitt is Trapped

One woman's story as she blogs - and fights back - the zombie apocalypse

Allison Hewitt and her five colleagues at the Brooks and Peabody Bookstore are trapped together when the zombie outbreak hits. Allison reaches out for help through her blog, writing on her laptop and utilizing the military's emergency wireless network (SNET).  It may also be her only chance to reach her mother. But as the reality of their situation sinks in, Allison’s blog becomes a harrowing account of her edge-of-the-seat adventures (with some witty sarcasm thrown in) as she and her companions fight their way through ravenous zombies and sometimes even more dangerous humans.

My Review:
Zombies...duh they are my favorites! So when I saw this summary I was like yeah I'm gonna get it! So I did! I loved it, although I was a bit miffed at the cover. It kind of made me think that the majority of the book would take place in the bookstore. This was just a minor irksome thing. Seriously this book is a lot of fun.

Allison is kick butt and definitely someone I'd want on my side in a zombie apocalypse!

So let's see what we have here, shall we? Zombies, check. Action, check! Romance, check. Kick ass story telling, check check and CHECK! I am pleased with this book. I highly recommend it to any of my readers that enjoy this genre!

Review: Witches of East End

My Review:  

This is definitely a quick and tasty read! I love a good witch story and I was not disappointed in The Witches of East End. The characters were well developed and relate-able...well as relate-able as someone with witchy-like powers can be to a non-witchy person! I especially had a fondness for Freya..she's wild and independent but put in a position of having to suppress her true nature! I felt bad for her and her family. The backstory showed that they had gone through so much, but were still touch and strong women! It's sounds cliched and it is in a way, but Melissa de la Cruz somehow manages to sprinkle a lot of febreeze on them and make them smell fresh again!

I recommend.

Mini Review-Wrongsized

Okay this was a super quick read but very funny! I read it in pretty much under an hour. This book is about a guy who has a cush job, but suddenly finds himself unemployed and confuddled, after some cutbacks. He can't get some of the jobs he knows he can do. He has no formal training, but he does know his stuff. He signs up with a temp agency after months of being idle, and hilarity ensues! He gets matched with so many random jobs along the way and each chapter highlights that job. This is a humorous read and fun. It's not going to win any awards but it was cute and I enjoyed it.
