Casual Friday Readathon (Updates)

I have the whole day off from work, no appointments, nothing that needs doing so I'm taking full advantage of it! I still do have to do my normal stuff for the Lady but otherwise, it's readathon day!

I'm setting my alarm for 7am, going to get the coffee started and all the morning stuffs done then at 8am I'm gonna plop down and start reading!

Got some snacks and drinks and caffeine. I have a stack of books that I can choose from.

I'll start with

Let's goooo!

First Update: 8am-11am

Wizard and Glass

Starting Page: 160
Ending Page:  247

Total Pages: 87

Notes: Made breakfast, did some things for the Lady and took the doggo outside. Spent some time reading on the porch and did some dishes.

Gonna take a lil breaky and then back to reading.

Second Update: 12pm- 6:30pm

Wizard and Glass

Starting Page: 247
Ending Page: 282

Total Pages: 35

Notes: Took a nap, made some dinner for the Lady and myself. Took a bath and will admit that I got sucked into the tiktok hole. I'm not giving up on the thon, I think I'll stay up pretty late tonight reading so I should get another update in before I crash later.

So I am rolling my Readathon over to the weekend. I still have work but I'm going to take every single chance I have to read more!

Casual Readathon

This is a casual lil shindig for me! Starting now (Thurs. 15th, @ 11am) and ending Saturday (not yet decided when yet) *maybe even rolling over to Sunday, I dunno* I will be reading any chance I get. Any time I can sit my ass on the sofa, reading. Anytime I have a free moment, reading. No pressure, no goals..though it would be lovely to finish a book..just reading.

I have work, house chores, taking care of the Lady but in the in between times I have plenty of chances to read.

This is also impromptu.

First up:

I'm starting from page: 176

I'll keep ya posted, probably daily, maybe more frequent. We shall see!

2025 Yuletide Spirit 24 in 48 Readathon -Updated

Okay peoples! I'm going to be joining this lil challenge/thon thing this weekend! I DO have work and I AM sick but I will do my best! This here ole readathon is a laid back kind of deal. You aim to read 24 hours in a 48 hour timeframe. I'll have my timer on my phone and do my best to squeeze in as much reading as I can in between work and whatever the weekend flings my way. (Probably naps and coughing!)

I'll do a few lil updates during the weekend to update on my progress. I am hoping to finish up The Drawing of The Three by Stephen King.

So first up:

Starting on page: 110

Join in the fun if you want!

UPDATE:

I finished The Drawing of the Three. I didn't read for 24 hours but I did manage to hit 17 hours total read so I count that as a win!

Welcome To June

This is a new month and I'm going to be getting my shit together! That's what I'm shouting into the universe and hopefully it'll stick! (And not onto something icky) I have goals for my finances, my personal interests, and my fitness. I have a lovely stack of books that I want to read and will aim to finish by the end of the month.

So with that being said here is my (as of now) TBR stack for the month of June

  • Throne of Glass
  • Crown Of Midnight
  • Heir of Fire
  • Queen of Shadows
  • Empire of Storms
  • Tower of Dawn
  • Kingdom of Ash
  • Elegance and Evil (review book)
  • A Fig for All the Devils
  • Silver Elite
A few of those are CHONKY but I do think I can get through them. I have a few more that are kind of sitting on the sidelines that have my interest but I'm not sure yet.

I'm also participating in the Sci-Fi Summer Readathon hosted by Seasons of Reading. I think most, if not all of my selections for June fit into the category (you can read Fantasy as well).

So give that banner thingy a clicky and join us!

For the rest of my goals, I'm hoping to be able to sock away a few hundred into my savings account. So I'll be working my main job and a lil side gig that I have to help with that.

My fitness goal, I want to lose about 5-10lbs, walk 10k steps (6 out of the 7 days of the week), and get better sleep.

I also want to focus on my garden, getting it looking pretty again and planting more seed babies into the ground (IF IT WOULD STOP RAINING FOR ONE WHOLE MINUTE!)

I also have a story that I've gotten started on, I have a handful of chapters down and want to get back into it and plop down more. So I might add a word goal per day, but I don't know.

So what are you reading for June? What are your goals for life or whatever you are thinking about?

Lemme know!

Readathon Update

So I am concluding my personal Readathon as of now. It's 7pm (ish) on Sunday and I started on Thursday morning. I clocked my time on a timer and was aiming for 24 hours total but I was being a bit casual about  it. I stopped at:
Not 24 hours but I'm gonna say it's close enough. During this time I managed to read these:

  • Sunrise on the Reaping
  • The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
  • The Lost Queen

I also have started on I Am Made of Death by Kelly Andrew. So I'm going to count this as a great success!

I'm Doing a 24 hour Readathon!

I have found myself somehow off two days in a row this week! I am very excited about this development and what does one do with a couple of days off? A readathon! I am planning on reading a total of 24 hours spread between Thursday the 3rd and Saturday the 5th! I go into work at 6pm on Saturday. So starting at 9am on Thursday until 9am on Saturday morning, I will keep a running timer and aim for 24 hours total reading.

I might pull an all nighter or I might live in the really real world and sleep some. However, I am very excited about this!

My possible reading selections:

  • Finish up: Sunrise on the Reaping
  • Finish up: The Shadow of the Gods
  • The Lost Queen
  • Quicksilver
  • The Ballad Of Songbirds and Snakes
  • Jade City
I might do updates of 4-5 hour blocks but I don't know yet. I think this style of readathon will be great for me, I can take breaks, naps, work out and study a bit in between reading bursts just as long as I hit the 24 hour mark.

I have caffeine, a few snackos and a strong urge to spend the day reading up a storm!

Spring Into Horror Readathon-I'm In!

So I'm going to be joining in on this event, as it's a month-long event and I think I can properly participate. I'm also really needing to play catch up on my reading goals! So yay!

The one main "rule" of Spring into Horror is that you must read at least ONE scary book (which can be a thriller, mystery, Gothic novel, or similar for those who are faint of heart). I hope you will indulge the scary beyond the one book, but that is entirely up to you. It is all about the reading after all.

I will try to figure out a good #TBR for this, but I have some time to think thunk upon it.

If you want to join in just click that pretty banner thingy and go sign up!

~TBRreadathon~

http://caffeinatedbookreviewer.com/2015/03/tbr-read-a-thon-begins-join-in-the-fun.html
From the Caffeinated Book Reviewer's blog:

"Today begins the TBR read-a-thon, a very low key event to help you tackle that TBR pile. The idea is to read and listen to books in your TBR pile. All book must have been published prior to March 1, 2015. Have fun and be sure to update on Twitter with the hashtag #TBRreadathon."

My Selections:

I am almost finished with Hotel Transylvania, so after that I'll get started on my next one.
My goal is to make a big dent in this pile!

I read Pretty Ugly (291 pages) and finished Hotel Transylvania (about 150 pages)

Read-a-thon: A Winter's Respite

Okie dokie artichokie, I know I've been MIA on this read-a-thon, but I have good reasonings! Monday in the middle of my work shift all my cables/internets vanished on me! Poof! No webs or tvs for the whole day!

This was me the whole time...I kid not.

Anywho, other than mindnumbing boredom and panicking over not being able to work, I DID read a lot. Me and the kidlet monster laid out on the couch and read...it twas delightful!

So far this 'thon I've gotten 2 books read! Today I am off work and taking a trip to my sister's house so I can FINALLY meet my new niece y'all! I LOVE new humans! Babies! Ermaghad!

So the booktype objects I'll be taking with me are as follows:

  • One Grave at a Time
  • Unholy Testament-ebook
  • Murder on Mars-ebook
  • The Woman in White-not an ebook but is a book that qualifies for a challenge
  • Persuasion
NO the trip is NOT that long, but my husband plays ANNOYING music when he's driving so I will have to drowned out the NOISE!

So there you have it! Mah plans! After I am done cuddling and contemplating how to sneak the babeh back home with me...I will be reading all night!
