~Bout of Books~ Read-a-thon Ending Post

I stopped counting pages and read a few novellas to keep me motivated. Not sure what happened with Emma, but I think I needed a change.

I wound up reading:

The Day The Dead Came to Show and Tell-Mira Grant
Countdown-Mira Grant
How Green this Land,  How Blue This Sea-Mira Grant
The Last Stand of the California Browncoats-Mira Grant

Plus the 79 pages that I had read from Fall on Your Knees and Emma.

I'm not sure how many pages that makes, since they were all novellas and rather short, but I feel accomplished! I love Mira Grant and the NewsFlesh series, so these were all awesome!

Maybe next read-a-thon I'll have better luck? :)

~Bout of Books~ Read-A-Thon Day 3

Guys! This "back to school" business is killing me! I swore to myself I wouldn't fall into the "yay the kid is on break let's not wake up at 5am now!" trap..but alas..I did! So now the transition back into waking up early is killing me!

I wanted to read about 100 pages in Emma, but I failed. I did read, but no where close to 100 pages. :( I did however make it to my read-a-long twitter chat! I only stayed for part of it because my eyes were twitching, but I made it! Woot!

Today I'm going to aim for 25-30 pages in Emma (pg. 64) and 25 pages of Fall On Your Knees (pg. 162).

Anything over that is gravy. :) Way to aim low huh? lol

Anyways, here's my stats so far:

So, yesterday I didn't get much reading done. I did get caught up on my read-a-long book, so there's that. I spent most of the day working and the rest hanging out with my kiddo. He is back in school today, so I plan on getting some good reading time in (YAY! Quiet house! Boo..I miss my boy!)

Look at me being all on a rolly! I've read (well read one and finished the other) 2 books so far! I know yesterday was gonna be devoted to my read-a-longs, but that will be today! Last night I was tooo entranced in The Kingmakers to read anything else, then I got all headachy so yeah..bedtime for me was ridiculously early. *hangs head in shame*

I finished a book y'all! I got a book read! My doohickey on the sidebar says I'm ON TRACK! This is immensely EPIC to me, considering half of last year it said something along the lines of "READ FASTER YOU LOSER!" So here I go today! I have a nice big chunk of day where I'm to do NOTHING, but as you guys have probably guessed ..I'm gonna use it reading.

Cat and Bones from the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. Dude, what's not to love about these guys? They are cray cray over each other, they are always finding themselves in interesting situations, but most importantly they are so adorable. I love their chemistry and wouldn't mind hanging out with them any day!

Bout of Books: Challenge Day 1

This first challenge question is hosted by Sarah over at A Bookish Question. She asked us to answer this:

“What do you like best about readathons? Do you have any readathon traditions or rituals? If this is your first readathon, what do you like so far? Discuss away!”

I love readathons because it's just such a challenge. I usually start out with a goal in mind, for say how many books/pages/hours etc that I'll try to read. I don't always get that goal but it is exciting to plan! I try and squeeze in as much time as I can. I plan out meals and clean as much as I can before time.

I do intend to read at least 4 books this week! I'm not going to list a stack though. I will just graze over my TBR pile and pick from there. I intend to spend at least 3 hours reading a day, more if possible. I'm going to start reading at 8am CST, after my son gets off to school. Wish me luck! :)

Signing Up for Bout of Books

Yes, my children, I have what is called by "professionals" as an "addiction" to readathons! I cannot deny that I do sign up for almost every one I come across! I love them! I look forward to them with giddy glee! So when I saw that this one was coming up I said...."Dewey's Reading Hangover be Damned! I'm joining up!" So here I be! Making my post o' intent!

So this one will go from 12:01am 10/24 through 11:59 pm 10/30 my time (which is CST) and yeah..rock on party peeps!
