Blurb:
Heaven can go to hell.
Until her cousin slaughtered the supernal family, Anazakia's father ruled the Heavens, governing noble Host and Fallen peasants alike. Now Anazakia is the last grand duchess of the House of Arkhangel'sk, and all she wants is to stay alive.
Hunted by Seraph assassins, Anazakia flees Heaven with two Fallen thieves--fire demon Vasily and air demon Belphagor, each with their own nefarious agenda--who hide her in the world of Man. The line between vice and virtue soon blurs, and when Belphagor is imprisoned, the unexpected passion of Vasily warms her through the Russian winter.
Heaven seems a distant dream, but when Anazakia learns the truth behind the celestial coup, she will have to return to fight for the throne--even if it means saving the man who murdered everyone she loved.have to return to fight for the throne--even if it means saving the man who murdered everyone she loved.have to return to fight for the throne--even if it means saving the man who murdered everyone she loved.

Interesting world, interesting characters, definitely an interesting story! From the start I was hooked, interested in what this world was like. Now, I'm not a big fan of books about angels and demons, but this was different. The book isn't like an episode of Touched by an Angel! It's (to borrow a word from Tyra Banks) FIERCE! The characters are bold and in your face and the story flows soo fast you won't have time to put the book down!
I enjoyed the bits of history woven into this story. Yes it's a stretch, but it's still very fun and captivating. The best thing is that this is a first in a series, but it doesn't have that "bogged down with information" feeling that some firsts have. You learn about the world as you go and that's a big plus for me! Very excellent writing can help with this, and Ms. Kindred has that skill.
Good character development, strong world building, and excellent writing is why I am giving this book a 4 out of 5 rating!
