        Read Dangerously Read-a-Thon: Day One

So the fun starts today! I won't remind everyone of the disastah that was the last read-a-thon (for me not the actual event..I just didn't do very well) so I won't get all fancy shmancy with this one and post a looong list. I'm just going to go with the flow.

So starting at 10am (CST) I'm going to start reading. I do hope to get at least three books read completely! That would make me a happy panda!

        First Book:
        Hold Me Closer, Necromancer
        Starting on page: 68
        Ending Page: 230

Once Upon A Read-a-Thon Starting Post

        Once Upon a Read-a-Thon

Well it's read-a-thon time again! I've got my stack and my snacks (wow a rhyme!) and I'm ready to read! I've thought about it and figure that I'll only do two posts per day...maybe break them up into 8 hour blocks?..not to sure about that just yet. I just know that I'm going to focus more on reading than on posting and twittering these next couple of days! So I will try to keep track of how long I actually read.

I have a two hour shift 8am to 11am but then I'm off work until thursday! Woot! I have one errand (grocery shopping) to do today but otherwise I'm going to devote my day to reading! Gonna get my game face on...grrrr!
**this be my xena grrr face! I'm gonna grr at my TBR stack!***

Cover to Cover Challenge Read-a-Thon! Day 1

This Read-a-Thon starts at 10am pacific time (which if my calculations are correct makes it noonish my time CST)

Sooooo what I'm going to do today is finish up Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb (starting on page 171)
        Which is goooooodddd. :)

And reading The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making (starting on page 16)
Which I started before and didn't finish. So I wanna finish, just so I can say it's name again! lol

I am not going to do an hour by hour update but I will try and update this post in "chunks" to let you all know how well I'm doing. This first day is a 24 hour read-a-thon....I know for sure that I won't be able to read all 24hours but I'll give it a shot! :)

        First Chunk: 12 (cst) -2pm
Progress: 41 pages of Assassin's Apprentice (plus laundry, vacuuming, sweeping, dishes, etc)
        Second Chunk: 2pm-4pm
        Starting pg: 212
Progress: not much of it! I had to work this chunk.
        Third Chunk: 4pm-6pm
        Starting Page: 212
progress: well I got a chunk read but again with the house work stuff. 61 pages read. Doesn't look like my second book will get read tonight.

        Read-a-Thon Starting Line Post

So it's 7:20 am, and I am starting my 'thon! I know I'm like 20 minutes late but believe me I'm gonna need those 20 minutes! Anyways, YAY!

        Introductory Questions:
1)Where are you reading from today? Anniston, AL, or more specifically from my desk but I will most likely switch to my comfy chair in just a bit.
2)Three random facts about me…I work at home full time, I'm definitely a hoarder of books, and I love anything and everything about Mr. Nathan Fillion. :) Maybe I'll bless you all with a picture sometime!
3)How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours? Too many to count, so I won't! My plan is to just read, read, read, and oh yeah....read.
4)Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)? I would like to finish three books from the begining. I have a few I need to finish, plus I am plegding money to the Kid's Need To Read foundation so that's motivation right there!
5)If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time? Get up and move, at least once an hour! It will really help your energy levels stay up! Drink plenty of water, and just relax and have fun!
