Quick Review: First Drop of Crimson
The night is not safe for mortals. Denise MacGregor knows all too well what lurks in the shadows—her best friend is half-vampire Cat Crawfield—and she has already lost more than the average human could bear. But her family's past is wrapped in secrets and shrouded in darkness—and a demon shapeshifter has marked Denise as prey. Now her survival depends on an immortal who lusts for a taste of her.
He is Spade, a powerful, mysterious vampire who has walked the earth for centuries and is now duty-bound to protect this endangered, alluring human—even if it means destroying his own kind. Denise may arouse his deepest hungers, but Spade knows he must fight his urge to have her as they face the nightmare together . . .
Because once the first crimson drop falls, they will both be lost.
My Thoughts:
Okay so this description makes Spade sound like a total creeper. He's not. He is rather conflicted by a very sad past event. He's kind of kept himself from ever possibly falling in love with a human again. Denise is recently widowed and fighting PTSD. These too have such amazing chemistry from the start, it's not surprising that they get together.
I LOVED this book. Seriously loved it. I loved the writing and the developments of Denise and Spade as characters. They are definitely just as hot as Cat and Bones! The plot is fun and fast paced, and amazingly hot. First Drop of Crimson is a delicious addition to the Night Huntress world.
I definitely will recommend this book to those that love paranormal romance or just a hot sexy actiony story! My only beef is how often Spade calls Denise "darling"...and that's not even enough to make me gag..just a smallish eye roll. lol

I liked this book too though I haven't read Cat & Bones' series. The cover, on the other hand, needs a makeover, the guy is NOT sexy.

tis so very true. I do NOT picture Spade like that at all. There's like something wrong with his neck or something?
