Thanksgiving was fine. My Dad hosts it and it's pretty informal. We show up and have some ham and fixings and hang out. It was fun. I enjoyed myself and I know my son did too. Christmas on the other hand. I have to budget for. I have to plan. I have to worry about certain family issues that I won't go into on my blog. It's stressful with a capital S.
I love it though. It's a weird thing. The holidays make me happy yet make me wanna take a flying leap off of something!
Okay so therapy blog session over.
This week sucked reading wise. I only didn't read much. I'm behind on reviews again. I knew if I bragged on my system it would happen..so this week. NO bragging. Just reading and doing what I need to! There. Done.
Here is some pretty to help raise the spirits:
*sigh...drool...*
I am the exact same way with the holidays. I love the baking and the gift-giving and the decorating and the festiveness, but man-o-man, by the end of it I DO feel like I could just jump off a bridge :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I totally get that stressed-out pre-holiday feeling! Yes, money issues; family issues; life in general issues.
ReplyDeleteAnd right after Christmas comes Tax Time! Major stress.
I think we have this idea that we're supposed to be blissed out by the holidays (that's what the hype tells us!). But life isn't like that. So we worry that we're somehow missing the boat.
Reading is a good escape from that for me. Or even movies, unless they're the syrupy/sugary sweet moments kind. lol
Hope you find a way to alleviate the stress and enjoy. It helps to lower our expectations.
Here's
MY SUNDAY SALON POST and
MY WEBSITE
Add me to the list of the Overly Stressed! While I love baking and wrapping gifts, all the other stuff is just annoying! Really hate the holiday traffic, as every day from now until Christmas will be a gridlock alert day. *shudder*
ReplyDeleteNeed a holiday from the holidays! *L*
