My Review:
I love Tudor history, and one of the most notable (or is it notorious?) figures of this time is of course Anne Boleyn. She's gotten quite a reputation as a woman that plotted and schemed her way to the throne. Historically, this woman was most likely simply a pawn in her family's plots to gain power. She used what she had, which at the time was her feminine wiles, to her family's advantage.
This book is quite a lovely read. It certainly does paint a clear image of what would have happened if Anne had done her "womanly duty" and provided Henry VIII with the son that he literally reorganized England for. I did thoroughly enjoy this glance, if not brief, at what could have been. I always wondered what would have been in store for Anne if her fate had been different.
This book would definitely not disappoint a history buff, yes it is fiction, but it's very well done fiction. The writer obviously put a lot of research and thought into this, crafting a very intriguing and page turning story!
