Summary
Abby
Gillis is used to being called a promiscuous, uneducated whore. It’s all in a
day’s work when you’re a stripper. Since her job allows her to support her
siblings, 24-year-old Abby takes it all off in stride. She’s never had trouble
keeping men at arm’s length – until she meets ER physician Chris Reneau, who is
sexy, sweet and interested in more than what’s beneath her clothes. As their
relationship unfolds, Abby becomes increasingly aware of the desire building in
her for the first time, and of her yearning to be wanted by the one man who
truly sees all of her.
Commitment-averse Chris finds himself in uncharted territory. He wants Abby, that’s clear, but he can’t accept not having all of her. As the distance between them erodes, he tries to convince Abby to give up stripping for a chance at something real.
As the two of them get closer, Abby realizes that truly baring it all has nothing to do with her body. Chris makes her feel more exposed than she ever has, and she has to grapple with what’s left when her notions about herself and those around her are stripped away, leaving only the naked truth.

My Thoughts:
Okie dokie folks! Let me start off by saying that this book was a doozy! I was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did! Abby is a great character, and her life is very interesting and sad. Chris is a bit TOO perfect at times, but he makes up for it in flubbed romantic gestures and manly comments! They have a chemistry that is super duper fun to read.
I read this book in one day, so I would consider that a quick read, since my 1 day equals about 3 for a typical book reviewer! So that should tell you how into it I got.
I really liked how Abby didn't come across as a victim because she worked as a stripper. She is smart, tough, and loyal to her family. She's young and instead of being selfish and silly, she's doing what is best for her family. Her Mother is a complete POS, and I really didn't care one way or another about her. Abby's sisters are adorable and I loved their bond! That part of the book really made me all emotional. I think it would have been just a bit nicer if Justin was more involved, but that's just me.
Chris on the other hand, he came off, at first, as the typical "savior of the morally lost girl." Usually, that would have pissed me off. For some reason Brenda Rothert makes him likable and flawed, which TOTALLY redeems his character in my mind. I enjoyed his flubbing and confusion about how to handle a woman like Abby. This lack of super perfectness makes him real and a break from the cookie cutter mold. He does have some wonderful chemistry with Abby! Some of their scenes are hot! Whew!
Enjoyed it! Gobbled it up! Definitely recommend!
